Do you want to spread debate over a semester, but can’t meet in person every week? This new Policy of Persuasion option might be the perfect one for you! This hybrid class is a fantastic option for homeschooled high schoolers who want:
- the best of both worlds: flexibility of online AND the benefit of in-person application!
- to grow their communication skills through speaking games and friendly competition
- to sharpen critical thinking, research, and writing skills– not just for debate, but for life!
- to learn debate without adding to a full school-year load or a weekly commitment
- to earn high school credit during the semester at a more flexible pace
- to dig into important issues about our society, government, etc. and learn how to think deeply and communicate clearly about them
- the opportunity to join a community of Christian communicators once the class is complete!

Beginning Debate!
An Online Introductory Debate Class for 5th-9th Graders
Help your child speak truth with clarity and confidence!
Does your 10-14 year old struggle with getting his ideas out? Does she have good opinions but needs to develop stronger, logical arguments to support them? This 5 week Beginner Debate Class help transform hesitant kids into articulate, confident communicators while making learning fun and engaging!
What we’ll cover:
- Attention-getting devices to hook any audience
- Knowing how to define important terms
- Understanding and identifying core values in arguments
- Connecting our thoughts together smoothly
- Building strong, logical cases with proper argument order
- Ending our speeches with impacts!
- Culminating our time together with real debate experience in our exciting 5th week of rounds!
Course Details:
- Ages: 5th-9th grade
- Format: 1 hour per week online
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Pricing: $60 per student | $40 for siblings
Bonus: Each student receives a comprehensive debate kit they can print at home, providing ongoing practice materials and reference guides to continue building their skills beyond the classroom. ($12 value!)
